Loki looked at her, amused as he considered her idea. “That’s not a half bad idea actually. It would be much better than this paltry excuse for a party.” And it was a good idea. After all the craziness of being on the bus in the first place and then landing in the craziness going on here, maybe a party on the bus was a great idea…
“You’ve done a pretty good job of making me laugh so far,” he said with a smile and a shrug. “And I do appreciate the trust you’re showing in me. It’s not a common experience for me, not that it’s not deserved.” Actually, he was a little surprised that the good Captain was okay with having Loki be the one to protect Ariel, though Loki also thought that Ariel didn’t need as much protecting as some might think.
Loki smiled again. He’d been doing a lot more of that since boarding the bus and honestly, he didn’t quite know what to think of that. Get dragged out of his life, again, right in the middle of something very important and somehow he found himself happier. “Well, seems like we could end up in all sorts of places. You never know when those skills might come in handy.”
