RP: Remus and Sirius
Who: Remus Lupin and Sirius Black
When: Friday, 15 April - early morning
Where: Remus and Faith's
What: Two friends reconnecting...again.
Remus had given it a few days.
He'd reached out to Sirius on the phones a few times, but gotten no response. Apparently this version of his friend was either not ready to talk to Remus -- whether that was from continued distrust or too much to wrap his head around Remus tried not to guess -- or was as anti-phone as Draco. If he was honest with himself, Remus was rather hoping for the latter. He could deal with that. He'd dealt with it with Draco and there were still magical means of communication they could use between them. Not even just the Patronus. The Marauders had made passing notes and messages unseen into an artform in school.
Still, even Remus had a limit to his patience and, with the first Full Moon of the month approaching, that patience was a little frayed.
The library was closed that day. Apparently, the yanks of this era still allowed for time off for Good Friday in some parts of the country. So, Remus didn't have to worry about being late to work and could take the time he assumed he'd need for connecting with Sirius and seeing where things stood with his friend right now. He didn't know when Sirius was from, but unless he was still as young as he'd been last time, it wasn't going to be anywhere good and Remus just wanted to make sure the other man was taken care of for now.
Slipping out to the backyard, Remus moved away from the house and lit a cigarette from the pack he'd stopped in to Steve & Bucky's store to buy on the way home the night before. His enhanced senses revolted violently against the action. But, he'd learned to tolerate it during the war for this specific reason. Using the smoke he exhaled as a cover, he cast an incorporeal patronus and sent the misty entity off to find Sirius, bearing the message We've waited long enough. Time to talk and telling Sirius where to find the house.
Then he stubbed out the cigarette, silently banished the lingering smoke, and settled on the porch to wait.
