"Who expects a microwave to be anti-Hot Pocket?" John laughed, shaking his head and turning the microwave around to inspect his possible entry points. It looked like a standard model, unscrew the back panel to pull out the side and bottom. He blinked in confusion for a moment, wondering at the purpose in using the 'loud and clear' radio response, then decided it must be some sort of slang usage from her world. Since it wasn't too far a leap to figure out what she meant, he just nodded. "Glad you're okay, though. These things can pack a wallop when they're really pissed off."
Now that he'd assessed the model, he started sifting through the tools he'd amassed on the worktable during the course of his work with the radio. "Yeah, I do. If you've heard the stories about the world we were on right when you arrived, it was pretty close to my world, AI overlord and all. I started out learning this stuff to fight it. But, discovered I liked it along the way. Kind of guaranteed me the 'weird kid' slot in school. But, that's high school, right?"
He'd located a screwdriver and a pair of alligator clips. Before setting to work removing the cover, John glanced up at her. "What about you? What's your downtime go to?"
