Who: Rowena Ravenclaw and Tom Riddle.
When: After Tom's Castle-quaking prank.
Where: By the Gate.
Why: Rowena is fed up and Tom has something to say.
Rating: PG
Status: Tense.
Her steps were light as she slipped through the front doors. She would not risk being blind-sided by some child. Rowena was a proud woman, but more than that: she was a protective woman. When her pupils were in danger, she would do what it took to see to their safety.
Even if that meant getting into a lowly duel with an imbalanced Dark Wizard.
"Lord Riddle?" she called, coming to the edge of the ring of enchantments that girdled the Castle, "I do hope you have not fled."
Something told her that he was nearby, watching her. The sensation alone made the hairs stand up on the back of her neck. He truly was deranged. Her heart ached at the thought as she recalled the face of her once friend, Salazar.
Movement to her left made her stiffen and she raised her gaze to find Riddle looking directly at her. His appearance had altered in disturbing ways. She found herself frowning before she could make her expression carefully blank.
"Do you have something to say that doesn't involve cracking Hogwarts in twine?" she allowed a small smirk to cross her lips, not wanting him to see her unease.
Tom returned her smirk, bowing to her in mock politeness. He rose slowly, crimson eyes glinting in the afternoon sunlight. She was amusing. He could tell that she was fuming yet her pride kept her from launching herself at him and throttling him with her bare hands.
"I have nothing to say to you." he whispered darkly, "However, you can send a message for me." he caressed his wand, lips pursed, "Tell him that peace will never be his as long as he frequents the castle."
He didn't need to say anything else. As long as she passed the message around the castle, it would reach his ears.
"I thank you for your hospitality, Lady Ravenclaw." he dissolved much like his serpent, wisps of shadows lingering for a few seconds after his disappearance.
"A message?" Rowena mused, nodding slowly as she listened, "A grudge, I see." her eyes darkened, rage engulfing her, "DO NOT LEAVE!" she glowered, slashing her hand through the air and hitting Tom before he dissolved.
Her mark would be on him. As such, she would be able to track his movements from here on out. Yet she knew she was too incensed to follow him at the moment. Disappearing with a crack, she transformed into a black raven and flew up to one of the towers.
