Hearing Things Characters: Ororo "Storm" Munroe. Location: Mansion. Timeline: Early morning. Description: Ororo falls back on old rituals.
Ororo had slept better with Logan at her side and felt more rested than she had in a very long time, but one night did not in any way make up for days upon days of no sleep. It was a start and one Ororo hoped would continue.
Currently she was working through her morning rituals, beginning with meditation and finishing in a session of Tai Chi out on the lawn. She breathed in and out slowly, trying to push away all her thoughts and concerns, attempting to center herself all over again.
Ororo turned on her heel and gently pushed the palm of one hand out towards the empty air around her, feeling the energy of the world shift around her. She gave a small smile, turning for another free and effortless movement, lightly turning herself in the air and dropping herself back to her toes.
Her hair spun with her as her hands and legs followed through with the movements she now knew off by heart, channelling her energy towards the tips of both feet and toes, letting the Earth ground and anchor her.
She lost herself to the movement and in the feeling that the whisper of her name came as a shock to her, jarring her back to reality. Ororo turned her head and her brow knitted together as the garden was empty, there was nobody to be seen. Was she hearing things? Ororo tried to push it to one side and turned back to her exercises but gasped softly as there was a touch on her shoulder, shortly followed by another whisper of her name, in a low voice. She spun around and had her hands drawn back, ready to defend herself, but stopped short as once again there was nobody there.
Ororo dropped her hands and closed her eyes, taking another deep breath. “You’re really losing it,” she muttered to herself softly before her hands threaded into her hair and she worked them down to the base of her skull, squeezing there softly.
She opened her eyes a few moments later and decided that she’d had enough of ritual for the time being and she left the garden, hoping the busy halls of the mansion might go a long way to easing her worries.
