"Well, I was raised to be anti-discrimination," said Mackenzie. "Raised to be opposed to discrimination, and really good at arguing since I was a little kid. What can I say? I made the combination work for me."
She took a drag from her cigarette and wondered just who she was speaking to. In any case, it was nice to know that the older gentleman was a fan of her career, rather than someone who wanted to put a quick end to it.
"I don't believe I got your name," she said pointedly. Mackenzie didn't like not knowing who she was speaking to.
