Sofia's eyes snapped open in the middle of the night, the idea for the segment crystalizing in her mind like a flash of lightning. She lay still for a moment, her heart racing with the excitement of it, knowing it was exactly what the station needed for the upcoming broadcast. It was perfect, and she couldn't let it slip away. Without thinking, she turned to her side and shook Julián gently.
"J, wake up," she whispered urgently, her fingers brushing his shoulder.
Julián groaned softly, shifting under the covers. "What time is it?" he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep.
Sofia ignored the question, her excitement bubbling over. "I just thought of the perfect idea for the segment we've been struggling with. You know how we've been trying to tie the community outreach to the local businesses in a way that feels natural? What if we-"
Julián cracked one eye open, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he registered her enthusiasm. "You woke me up for a segment idea?" he muttered, still half-asleep but clearly amused.
"I know, I know, but hear me out," Sofia insisted, her words tumbling out quickly as she explained the concept. Her hands gestured in the dark, excitement pouring through every word. "It's about creating a personal connection, showing the real people behind the businesses. It's not just about the products, it's about their stories. We can do short interviews, highlight their journeys…"
Julián listened, nodding slowly, though his eyes were barely open. He let out a sleepy chuckle, his hand lazily reaching for hers, pulling her closer. "That's a great idea, Sof," he murmured, his voice low and warm.
She felt a surge of satisfaction, glad that he saw the potential too, but before she could continue, Julián pulled her fully into his arms, his chin resting on the top of her head. "But…" he added softly, "let's sleep on it."
Sofia let out a small laugh, her excitement settling into something softer as she snuggled into his warmth. The idea could wait until morning. She smiled to herself as she let her eyes drift closed again. Wrapped in Julián's arms, everything felt right - her idea, their life, the quiet peace of the moment.
"Okay," she whispered. "But don't let me forget in the morning."
"I won't," he promised, his voice already fading back into sleep. "Goodnight, genius."
