For the last week there was a bulletin posted on the door of the D.A.D.A. classroom announcing the first meeting of the Dueling club, and its scheduled time. Professor Humperdink didn’t worry if the club members saw it or not; he was told he had to schedule a time for the club as part of his D.A.D.A. Professor role. He automatically expected each student signed up for the club to arrive when summoned, and to be on time. If anyone arrived even five minutes after seven, he dismissed them without a second thought. Professor Humperdink is a no-nonsense kind of man, and takes the club as seriously as he does with everything else. You screw up, ‘it could mean your life!’ Because he is new addition to Hogwarts, Professor Flitwick was advised to help with the club to keep things running smoothly. The initial meeting goes over the rules of the club, and the assigned spells that will be used for duels. Students who fail to adhere to the rules, or use spells other than the allowed spells during duels, will be kicked off the club. Each club member received a list of spells to go over at their own time, to use at following meetings. These spells are very basic, simple spells that club members should either know by now, or can easily learn as meetings go on. It is also explained that those who attend will be paired up randomly at each meeting to practice the dueling techniques they learned during the first fifteen minutes of the club. It is also announced that after the Christmas Holiday there will be an organized Dueling Tournament for the members of the club. At the end of the meeting, Professor Humperdink informed the members that the next meeting won’t be able to take place until the first week of October, and so insisted members prepare themselves during their free time until then. |
