The Plot - Cannon through Deathly Hallows
It is August 20, 1998. The dark lord has been destroyed by Harry Potter and the wizarding world rejoiced. The end of the war brought change to the wizarding world, mostly for the better. People, especially muggle borns, no longer live in fear. The ministry has been thoroughly cleaned and is up and running, making themselves ready for elections in the spring.
The death eaters have been rounded up and some sent to prison but others who claimed to be Imperiused or coerced into service have been released with a pardon and a show of goodwill towards all men. Rodolphus Lestrange at the loss of his wife, claimed the imperius curse and is now working to serve the ministry to prove what he can do for society. He stepped into the political arena speaking for the unity of the wizarding world and has become quite popular with his show of intellect and concern for its well-being. Things are not always as they seem. Now that he has won the title of Minister of Magic, changes are coming.
After the final battle of Hogwarts, many parents complained to the Ministry Department of Education. Their children did not graduate, nor did they complete exams or get a proper education. There was talk of boycotting the school, forcing it to close. The ministry, and new headmistress, Minerva McGonagal, came up with a plan. They would offer an 8th year to those who should have finished to see that they could get a proper year of schooling and complete everything they needed to. They would have extra liberties as they would be of age as well. Most parents responded favorably and have agreed to send their children to finish the year properly. For those who could not attend, it is also their chance to make up for what they had lost, welcomed back with open arms and an apology from the school and the ministry.
Everything seems to be going well, but good and evil do go hand in hand and there are forces at work both at Hogwarts and in the Ministry as the dark side tries to reclaim power over the wizarding world. It is often difficult to see who is on what side, but the dark lord's fellowship is alive and well, building up enough momentum until they can rise again. | | 5:16a |

Halloween, 1981, the Dark Lord Voldemort fell at the hands of one-year old Harry Potter, bringing an end to a decade long reign of terror, to the relief of the entire Wizarding World. Death Eaters were imprisoned, wounds healed, and the Wizarding World spent the next decade healing from the pain of the first war. Yet, Voldemort was not truly defeated that night. He will rise once more, bringing upon another vicious war upon the Wizarding World.
Everyone knows the story of James and Lily Potter and the story of their son, Harry, but until now, the story of what happened in between has been unknown.
It is 1990, the year before Harry Potter will discover he is a Wizard. Professor Quirrell is off to Albania where he will become a vessel for the weakened Dark Lord, Charlie Weasley and his friends are in their seventh-year at Hogwarts, learning all about love, life, and Quidditch, and the foundation for the future is being paved.
Everyone stands at a crossroads, the road behind them broken and wilting. The road ahead holds a mystery. Which paths in life will they chose? Who will they become? Only one thing is certain; they must choose.

Forgotten Gods  |
What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather?
Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings.
And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness.
Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology.

Cast Page • Weather • Safe Houses •  Friends Button/ContactLord Voldemort fell to his demise on May 02, 1998 at the hands of The Boy-Who-Lived. Harry Potter and the rest of the wizarding world were left to clean up the mess that was left behind, but it all seemed worth it if that meant they were free of such a great and terrible wizard. Many of the Dark Lord's followers were found guilty and sentenced to spend time in Azkaban prison, and Kingsley Shacklebolt was appointed as the new Minister of Magic. He had hired Harry, Ron, and Neville shortly after the battle to help him in his pursuit to find the remainder of Voldemort's followers, and the dark era finally seemed as if it was coming to an end.
It is now 2001 and while the wizarding world is still struggling to pick up the pieces from the destruction that the war produced. People no longer have to live in fear of Voldemort targeting their family because they did not follow the Death Eater's regime, and they are free to live their every day lives as normal as possible for witches and wizards. They go to work and come home to their families, they're purchasing flats and no longer clutch their wands while they are alone. But their false sense of security is about to be turned upside down.
A dark force has begun to rise up into their midst, a dark force that no one saw coming. No one except for the one that made the prophecy so many years ago. He is coming from a foreign country, and the Death Eaters are starting to feel this new rush of power that is beginning to make their Marks more troublesome than they had been in the past few years. Will the Death Eaters concede to this new force that is slowly approaching in hopes of creating a new Dark Lord, or will they rebel against it? And will the supporters of the Order of the Phoenix fight back against them, or be forced into hiding? Only time will tell. What side will you choose? |

The year is 1998.
It has only been four months since The Battle of Hogwarts, but the Ministry believe it important for things to return to normal as quickly as possible.
On September 1st Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has reopened, only this time with an extra bundle of students. The old class of '98 have been invited back to resit their year with the current NEWTS class, as their education in the previous year was 'inconsistent'. Room is made for them in their former houses and tensions are lifted from Hogwarts for the first time in a long time.
Meanwhile, in Europe, Wizarding communities are being crippled by a virus that slowly destroys the ability to perform magic. Schools are being closed down to try and prevent the spread. Emergency procedures are put in place to try and stop it reaching Great Britain but on Hallowe'en night it becomes clear that it has not been successful.
A teacher and student are confirmed to have the virus and the Ministry immediately quarantines Hogwarts, placing a ward around the castle and its grounds to stop the virus spreading further.
One by one students find themselves losing their ability to perform ever the simplest of spells. But even as they struggle to try and discover a cure, darker forces are beginning to close in on the school...
With their worlds suddenly turned upside down, will the students be able to pull together once more, or will this be one hurdle too big for them to overcome?

City Of Hills is an aim and thread friendly play by (PB)/city based community set in San Francisco, California. Writers of this community are promised creative control over their story lines. As long as things are kept realistic, there should not be an issue at all. We are a game that encourages diversity among characters and accept all types of play bys. This is a pretty basic city-wide game, although we do focus our residential selections around fourteen neighborhoods. This game also accepts characters of all ages.
