Preparing for the school year hadn't been a simple task. Remus had come to realize that they had never really appreciated all the efforts their professors put forth at Hogwarts all those years ago. Well, until now. It had been weeks since he arrived at the school and he was still finding himself preparing and organizing. He had been looking for a supply of doxies for an early lesson, and Hogsmeade just didn't have them in stock and he was left to take the day-trip to Diagon Alley.
When he first spotted Sirius' brother approaching, Remus considered whether or not he might be able to duck away. Regulus, however, seemed to have other plans. As he approached, he stiffened his shoulders some and forced a small smile to stretch the corners of his mouth. Regular was not the most pleasant of wizards, but Lupin was going to be polite and give him the benefit of the doubt. For now.
"It's two. If you spoke with your brother, you probably would know that for sure. How are you, Regulus? You look....well. Especially for a dead man."
