"Wrote real news!" She felt her voice get higher pitched, she was actually made at this statement. How could she say she didn't write real news? She busted her but to get stories out on time and with some air of truth to them. She hated to admit it but those few words cut a lot deeper coming from him than anyone else.
"Write a retraction! That will tarnish my name. Particularly if I don't have a damn good reason or story to go along with it." Rita's smirk had left her face and she actually looked a little upset, defeated. She sat in her chair and looked back at the work in front of her. "Drama and war sells papers. I'm happy to write a 'real story' if it is interesting enough." Rita used air quotes with her hands as she said real story. "But they rely on me to sell papers and that is what I'm going to do. I'm not writing a retraction unless I have something to go along with it. If I can put my spin on it then maybe I'll consider it." Her spin namely dragging her fake source through the mud with some conspiracy theory.
