James put the finished flourish on the letter to the board of directors, dried the ink with a quick charm, then duplicated the needed amount. The letter had taken him longer than he thought strictly necessary, but the board was being unreasonably prickly about James' latest acquisition of the Firebolt Broom Company. He knew he'd win them over in the end, but the end was further off than he's expected. Hopefully the letter detailing the benefits of the acquisition would soothe fears.
He made quick work of sending the letters Out, and then stood from his desk. He could hear his family and making merry outside his office, and he spent enough of this beautiful day cooped up inside. With a grin he pushed open the door just in time to see Harry fly down the hall in pursuit of a paper giant squid.
"What's this? Has my first mate gone off on an adventure without his captain?" James roared, scooping Harry up and tossing him over his shoulder. "That's mutiny!" He looked over at Lily, who was toting a tearstained Nate. "To the plank with all of you scallywags."
