Okay lets try an example.
You: I left the family bubble and discovered the world when I met my friends Your brother: You left me when you met your friends Fact: you were a kid who made friends.
So yes you and your brother can discuss and argue about what it meant, giving it itself all kind of good or bad connotations, but the event itself is neutral. If you can break down things, then you can figure out how to make those connotations better for you and your brother.
However since you think that's too cold and analytical, keep doing it your way, because unlike you, I have no interest in changing anyone. I only give my opinion for people to accept it or not as they like.
Finally, I think you should watch your hyperboles. Life is full of impulsive marriages between people who have only known each other for ten minutes? In which planet are there so many?
