"I did not know that, but then I didn't know you until a week ago," she answered. "However for someone who hasn't talked to his brother in over a decade, your reaction seems to indicate that you care." At least those were empirical observations that she could rely on, but what to do with those observations was a different matter. She wasn't really keen to rely on emotions.
"Would it help to tell me what the fight was about? Maybe that will give me more information and I can be more useful, because I'm not sure what to say," she admitted. "If you really didn't care, you wouldn't be upset, but how to make it better-" She shrugged. "I'm not sure. My family is rather close, so we never had any of these problems."
