I do not dispute for a moment that Slytherins got revenge and they can be truly inventive when seeking said revenge. The problem is that having a teacher and now a headmaster create that sort of discrimination is far worse than anything the students can do. It creates an environment where every Slytherin learns on his or her first night at school thanks to the older students that the rest of the school is the enemy and no one can be trusted outside of our house.
My wife's family has always been sorted into Slytherin. My family has always been sorted in Slytherin. While it's not certain, there is a high probability that he would be sorted in Slytherin and by then the damage would be done.
