She shook her head. "No, nothing to be sorry about. I'm not doing much of anything, but I don't know how useful I can be. I grew up with brothers, my friends are men. Apparently I'm a strange woman," she said, laughing.
Her eyebrows went up as the other woman kept talking and not for the reasons she might think. "Honestly, I'll have to pay you back, because dating? I'm not really doing that. I mean I'm not celibate or anything and I think women should have sex when they want, but a lot of men don't want to deal with a woman who had a job, is independent and can do whatever she wants." Also plenty of men found her too boring. "Maybe the advice that you should give them is not to think that their lives are dependent on a man, just live your life and take it one day at a time. If you're meant to find that one person, you will. Trying to change to please a man is useless because sooner or later you'll resent him."
