He'd estimated around 17 active members, so the numbers weren't far off. The time-line added up, as did the conflagration with Death Eater activity. He was starting to feel cautiously optimistic about this meeting. Even if 'Regulus Black' was a complete prick, and probably more annoying than he was worth. However, if it led to any sort of actionable results against the cult, Kingsley wouldn't mind too terribly much about dealing with him.
"I'm not talking about locking you up in a cell," Kingsley said. "But you do need to come in, have a formal interview on record, and we need to verify your information. I'm not an idiot either, and who's to say this isn't a trap or that you'll do a disappearing act before it all plays out." he crossed his arms over his chest. "Dumbledore speaking in your defense would go a long way to settling matters. But this won't happen overnight, and until then you'll have some Auror protection whether you need it or not."
While Kingsley didn't doubt 'Regulus Black' could defend himself, but he could hear Moody growling in his ear about being a push-over, and Kingsley strengthened his resolve. "We'll figure out some plausible reason for your return to good-health, without compromising the investigation. By Thursday you should be able to return to your home, make your presence known, if your information turns out to be good information. The Aurors can work quickly, and we have most of this information already."
