"We are." The smile was genuine and immediate. She liked to remember the good part of her grandfather's life. "He worked at the Ministry in the International Law Department and we come from an old family. He was gaining international support to oppose him. He wanted to get all of Europe to send us their best and brightest, but those efforts died with him," she said with a sigh.
She hooked her arm with his and started to walk again, almost forcing him to concentrate on the here and now. "History is great as long as you don't forget to live," she said, smiling. "Sometimes it's just good to take things one day a time. Don't think about it as history but just as... living. Life might not be so complex when you do that."
