"He has responsibilities. Just...they're probably known only to him." Remus felt the need to continue to defend his best mate but did so half-heartedly. He understood where Regulus was coming from, even if it was awkward to admit. He would never betray Sirius, though. Not even if this...whatever it was continued to move forward.
A slow breath and his shoulders were...tense. There was a lot going on in Remus' mind at the moment. First, he was debating what would happen if he just gave in. It was tempting, especially with the whiskey burning down his throat. At the same time, there was that little-unspoken secret he had.
"True..." Remus looked up at Regulus and seemed only then to realize how close the two were. A few inches apart. He took a breath and then turned to finish his drink, setting it down with a small thud against the table and watching the light reflecting off of it. "So, you're risking a lot.
