"I didn't ask you to be up," she reminded her, laughing. Marlene opted for tea and a full breakfast. She probably would skip lunch anyway and sleep through the day. "I technically haven't gone to bed yet. That makes it much easier."
Marlene was rather amused by Dorcas' reaction. "You know you will go, just like I will, because our world is small enough that if we skip these there's nothing else to do, except work, work with a side of work." She thanked the waitress when she returned with their drinks. She added tea and sugar, before taking a sip. "Do you know who you went home with? Or whose home you went to?" It wasn't curiosity, but worry. Marlene didn't like to see her friends take chances going home with people they didn't remember. Edgar was just as bad.
