He finished the remainder of his whiskey before continuing. "I'm not suggesting you view history from one angle but at some point you have to use the evidence at hand to come to a point," he replied. "As for the Dark Arts, I think we can agree that's a complex matter. If her only way to get to power was to use the Dark Arts, I can't say I'm going to lose sleep at the persecution--woman or not."
In his line of work, he had seen first hand the damage that sort of magic could cause when people were just playing at it, let alone those who were truly apt in the area. In his mind, there was no budging on that matter. No good could come from learning that sort of magic.
"Well, this not a discussion I thought I would have this evening," he smiled. "Is this the norm for you?"
