She shook her head. "I know it hasn't ended, but people like to pretend that it has and what happens when we have ten, fifteen men who can't die. A group of purebloods who have given up their soul and hold nothing sacred would be able to dictate what our country would be like, because no matter how many fight them, they can't die."
Marlene sighed. "I might not be sanctioned, but I like to prepare for the worst." If she accepted that the worst could and would happen, then she'd be prepared for anything and nothing could hurt her. "And I've ruined breakfast, haven't I? It's just...
