The last bit had her laughing aloud. "Sure, I'll just ask my boss and Dumbledore if they are interested. Seems like a normal thing to do. If they send me to St. Mungo's to see if I've been possessed, I'll explain that it was your idea."
It was easier to laugh about that then think about the rest, but as much as she wanted to avoid it, Edgar was the only person she could talk to when it came to this. "We're not in a war yet. Instead of one crazy man who wishes immortality, we have an entire group of men, who will stop at nothing to gain it. And what does it happen when they do? We can't stop them and we can't stop them recruiting. We'd be at their mercy. I know it's easier to pretend that Dark magic ended when You Know Who died, but it didn't."
She got up and paced, but it only lasted for a few moment. She needed the contact and ended up sitting on his lap, putting an arm around his neck. "I don't know if I can do it, but I don't know if we can afford not to try it, and no one can be as bad as Rabastan, right?" She hated how insecure she sounded. She always knew what to do, and she didn't mind the sex with people she didn't know or love, but she might not survive someone like Rabastan again, not emotionally. "Maybe I'm worrying for nothing. I mean I don't know if they would even authorise a long term op at this point."
