Meanwhile, in the Hufflepuff 7th Year Girls Dormitory...
With their powers combined, Susan and Hannah ought to take up worrying professionally.
After what had happened to Neville and Seamus, and then another student too, Susan hadn't thought the idea to steal from the Carrows a good one. She hadn't spoken up as such at the last DA meeting, or written anything in her pamphlet, but when Ernie had made clear his intentions to help Ginny and the others pilfer the entire desk of the school's most easily provoked professor, she had tried to stress how dangerous she thought it could be. If Alecto Carrow wasn't afraid to use the Cruciatus curse on seventeen year old boys who had written an essay in a way she found offensive, what on earth would she do to someone who she found thieving her possessions?
It was this idea that she was contemplating, sitting propped against a small mountain of conjured pillows on her bed, flipping absentmindedly through her Charms text in search of a new challenge for the next club meeting. It was also, Susan was fairly certain, what occupied Hannah's mind in the next bed over.
"Do you think it's a bad sign," she asked finally, almost fit to burst with the tension of it all, "or a good one, that it's taking so long?"
