[D.Gray-Man] Victory Dance - If We'd Never
Title: Victory Dance Rating: G Fandom(s): D.Gray-Man Pairing(s): Fairly gen, but maybe more Allen/Lenalee than anything else? Wordcount: 434 Disclaimer: Not mine. Synopsis: Allen predicts the aftermath of their victory.
In Allen's mind, they will all meet again in the tower where they first met. They will not believe it at first, and there will be a moment of dumbstruck silence. Then, slowly, there will be cheers. Cheers for those who survived and cheers for those who did not, because through their deaths, they will have saved an uncountable number of lives.
In his mind, Allen sees Lenalee looking around desperately, because their victory would only have come through a grand battle. She will be looking for anyone who she loves, to see if they would still be there. To see if they will have died. She would find Lavi first, because Lavi makes it easy for himself to be found. Lenalee is not weak, but she will nearly collapse then, because she will have been so scared of what could have been. Lavi will catch her and hold her, trying awkwardly to comfort her by patting her on the back.
Komui would see them like that, but he wouldn't interfere. He would have always known that someday, he would have to let his little sister grow up and stand by herself. He will realize in that moment, or maybe even before then, that she had grown up long ago while he was too focused on her to notice. Though it will tear him apart, he will let her go.
Together, Lenalee and Lavi will look for the rest of them. They will find some of the scientists—Allen doesn't know which ones—and maybe Bak, who will be too ecstatic to be in love, and thus would hug both of them before moving on to his next close friends.
They would find Kanda next, in a corner by himself, no doubt. He won't know what to do with himself. Kanda had given too much of himself up to this one, single goal. Now he will have to find himself again in the pieces that had been left over by the war, and it would be difficult for him. Lavi and Lenalee won't let him do it alone, though, because they are friends.
They wouldn't be able to convince Kanda to go with them to find everyone else, so they leave him. They will go through and congratulate everyone and cheer and smile and laugh. Maybe they will even forget to find him, but Allen doesn't think so. Maybe he does think they will forget, but he will not believe it. In this moment, there is nothing and no one that this belief could hurt.
