Till Morning (Due South, exorcism) Title: Till Morning Fandom:Due South Characters/Pairing: implied Fraser/Vecchio Rating: PG Word Count: 212 Challenge/Prompt: exorcism Summary: He still dreams about her.
He still dreams about her. She's been gone, now, for nearly six months, but she still comes to him at night, in his sleep.
Come with me, Ben, she says, come with me, stretching out her arm, her long pale fingers beckoning him, her face pained and ugly with anguish.
He runs and runs, can't let her go, can't, not this time, wait for me, wait for me, please, please, and she's just out of reach, just beyond his grasp. No, he shouts, no.
And someone's shaking him, saying, "Benny! Wake up!" and the room is still and quiet and Ray's beside him, his hand on Fraser's shoulder.
"Oh," Fraser breathes, trying to calm himself. "Oh."
"You okay?"
"I'm fine," he says. "Sorry, it's nothing."
Ray frowns, his eyes tired and Fraser knows he knows. But he only says, "Bad dream, huh?"
He smiles, weakly, "Something like that, Ray."
"Okay, well, go back to sleep now. You'll be all right."
"Yes," says Fraser. "I will." And he rolls over on to his side, pulling Ray's arm over and around him.
They both know it's a lie, and they both know they can't keep doing this, can't keep going like this, but, right now, it's dark, and in the dark they can pretend.
