Teaser/Summary/Synopsis, etc.: It wasn't the first time Sena wished that time would slow down, but it was the first time he so fervently prayed that school would never end.
Notes: This fic is not even close to being complete. I was just going to do something small, and then a multi-chaptered bunny spring up and ate me alive. So, here's part of the first chapter I managed to write.
Today, Sena concluded, was a very bad day. He woke up late, nearly tripped on his cat Pitt when running down the stairs, burnt the scrambled eggs he'd tried to make, and had been left gulping down dry cereal (they didn't have milk) in less than five minutes before running to school. Then, on the way to school, his bag strap broke and he'd been forced to carry it underarm, and to make matters worse it suddenly started raining halfway to school and he'd forgotten his umbrella.
And now, now he was being backed up against the wall by one of the scariest people to exist, Hiruma Youichi. Spiky blond hair, double ear piercings, pointed ears, and sharp teeth spread in a wide grin that would scare the very devil himself, Hiruma was truly the Demon of Deimon High School. The blond was the one person Mamori-neechan had warned him to avoid over all others, and so far he'd done pretty well. It wasn't that hard, Sena was not only a nameless boy with nothing special (other than being a bully magnet) he was also a year younger - the times they were even in the same room were nearly nonexistent.
I only had three months left until Hiruma graduated!
"Yo, fucking shrimp,” Hiruma’s grin widened as he casually rested his arm against the wall above Sena's head, "you're Kobayakawa Sena, right?"
The second year brunet briefly considered lying, but the idea of lying to someone as scary as this..."Y-yeah, I'm Kobayakawa Sena."
Hiruma nodded, as though Sena only confirmed something he already knew. "Good, then you won't mind meeting me here after school, right?"
Horrible images of what Hiruma would do to him if he didn't agree danced through Sena's head. He nodded rapidly, not quite confident to speak. The upperclassmen cackled, standing straight and slipping his hands into his pockets as he turned and walked away.
"W-wait!" Sena shouted suddenly without thinking. Hiruma paused. "Why...why are..." Hiruma looked over his shoulder, giving the younger teenager a sharp-toothed grin that sent shivers down Sena's spine.
"I want you to do me a favor." With that, Hiruma disappeared around a corner and left, leaving Sena to wonder what exactly Hiruma meant by 'favor'.
The idea continued to haunt him all day, from the surprise math quiz he was sure he flunked, through the history lesson he was too preoccupied to take notes in, all the way until English class, where he stuttered through a poem he was sure he was reading wrong if the giggles behind him were any reaction to judge by. But all of this barely registered in his mind as unbidden images of whatever Hiruma's favor could possibly be sprang into his mind. Maybe he wanted Sena to clean his whole house, or maybe he wanted Sena to steal something, or...or, Oh God, Hiruma may have killed someone and he wanted Sena to hide the body! It wasn't the first time Sena wished that time would slow down, but it was the first time he so fervently prayed that school would never end.
