Cappie gave an over pronounced shrug, turning back around to look at her but still backing away along the sidewalk.
"I'll work on it," he called. "Thank you for pointing out the glaring flaws in my sense of decency." Cappie smiled calmly. He didn't believe in getting flustered on account of someone else's opinion of him. That was far too stressful.
It didn't take him long to reach the corner of the street - he could hear the sound of people and cars getting louder and less muffled as he walked backwards towards them. He lifted his hand in a friendly wave before turning the corner and starting back off in the direction he'd meant to be going in. If he remembered right, the coffee shop was just a block further on. He adjusted his hand on the strap of his satchel, pulling it further onto his shoulder, and couldn't resist a glance back at the entrance to the side road where he'd left the tiny blonde. It was a shame he'd freaked her out. She really did have a great ass.
