The tears began falling again and he moved once more, his arms winding around her and pulling her in against him. She needed the comfort and he was only too willing to ensure that she got as much as he could give.
"It was because he loved you," Elijah answered. "It's one thing he and I always agreed on. He did what he did because he was devoted to you. He knew the risks, but the reward of being with you outweighed everything. He pledged his devotion to you, and you to him. For better or for worse." "You don't walk away from that commitment. And you know Jackson wouldn't have wanted to." Hands moved soothingly up and down her back as he spoke, voice soft and gentle. "And, though Hope may only hear about him, she will hear a great deal about him if I know you as well as I believe I do. She will hear your stories, see the pictures, handle some of his belongings...
