He would undoubtedly find her there quite a few more times. Hayley was stubbornly independent. Independent to a fault, in fact, and she would most certainly try to hide these crying sessions from everyone. "It's understandable," he answered, voice gentle as he crouched beside her.
"You've been dealt a very large blow." He couldn't stop one hand from rising, brushing a stray strand of hair off her face, fingers resting against her cheek even after the task was accomplished.
"You don't need to hide this, Hayley. You don't have to shoulder this burden on your own. You are part of our family...you have us still. All of us." Though she was unaware of his sister's daggering.
"I can't take away the hurt...but you don't have to bottle it up inside of you until it overwhelms you."
