After her years living as a human, Anna has grown accustomed to living life safely. She's not use to being on the run, and although she's remarkably good at hiding from some of the most difficult beings to keep a secret from (after all, she hasn't been caught yet) the place to place, empty room to empty room life is wearing thin. She sighs despite herself, but his determined response both surprises her and prompts a genuine, if small, smile. Who would have thought that in the end it would be Castiel helping to protect her?
"As long as we watch each other back, we're sure to be fine." It's a lie. She knows it, and she's sure he must recognise it too, even as lacking as he is in these things. "We'll be fine."
She has to repeat it, has to try to convince herself, because she knows what she will face if she gets caught. She's heard if what they do to rebellious angels, there's always been whispers of the vicious reprogramming that the ones who don't walk the line face. Not much scares her, at least my much she'll ever admit to, but the thought of going through that absolutely terrifies her. She'd rather be killed, but she knows they won't resort to that unless they have to. A conversation change is in order, so she turns the focus on him instead.
"But how are you coping, Cas? With all of this..."
