John was grateful when her arms slid around him; being close to Six gave him strength, gave him hope. He was clutching her tightly, his chin resting against the top of her head, breathing unsteady. "We'll get him back...I'm sorry, Six. It's my fault. I should have gone back for him already..." John was leaving out the part where he had been in no condition to do so.
He still wasn't letting go of her yet. Closing his eyes, he tried to calm everything inside of him, something easier said than done. "We've got reinforcements now and you know how strong Sam is...he'll never give up." John believed that, absolutely. Sam had proven to be the most trustworthy person he knew on several occasions. "I wasn't sure I'd ever see you again."
