He couldn't tell her didn't seem like much of an excuse right now. She was finding everything out anyway. He might have been trying to protect her but he had left her more vulnerable than she even realized. She might have hated him a little bit for it, for keeping so much from her but then it didn't seem so important now. He knew her sister, knew about Sylar, and knew about abilities and now she was getting a crash course in it, herself.
Great, just great. She wanted to live forever, except she didn't. She didn't want to die right then or anything, but death was a natural part of life and it was going to happen someday to everyone. But not to her? She would never get to see Lilly or Elle, and that was taking it's toll on her. She felt like she couldn't breathe as she sat against the bathtub, staring at the door and listening to him. This was the most times he'd ever called her Veronica since they'd known one another.
Her eyes widened as the door suddenly changed from wood to glass in front of her eyes. Jeremiah had an ability too. That meant...well that he was a potential target for Sylar too. Veronica could not handle that. What if Sylar came after Jeremiah? Now she was too worried about him to be mad at him. She stood up, and crossed her arms and then walked to the door.
