At least he believed she wasn't Elle. Ghosts did not exist, her words to him had been more sarcastic than anything. She had been waiting for this moment since she found out what he had done. The danger of the situation hadn't sunk in yet. She was blinded by her need for vengeance or justice. She would never know her sister and that was his fault. There was no changing that. She had been robbed of a sister she never knew and someone had to answer for that.
"Shut up, you don't get to talk about her. Don't even say her name." Her emotions were clouding her judgment, she was shaking with anger at him. His words cut her like a knife. She was too close to this case, it never should have been assigned to her but she was good a convincing people she could be objective. All she got was saddled with Jeremiah, who she hadn't told she was doing this.
