Her gaze glanced over to him and she frowned a little, wondering why he'd even care. "Yeah, I know."

He just nodded once, sipping at his coffee, the white ceramic diner mug looking almost as dainty as a demitasse cup in his hands, "Just making sure."

She glanced back towards the reflection she'd been watching in a mirror as she slipped into a seat and ordered a black coffee for herself, waiting to see if the person would follow her inside, or keep going.

"You're sharper than most." He said, scanning over his menu, it was easy for him to carry on a conversation without looking like it, though he was happy to provide an alibi if she needed one.

"Gotta be, to stay alive." It seemed like the guy hadn't noticed her duck into the coffee shop, and kept on going. As he walked by, Jo studied him close, trying to figure out if she knew him. If this was another demonic attempt on hunters, she might be in trouble.

"You'd be surprised how many people get on fine without it." He said, a flicker of a smile catching at the corner of his mouth, "But that's just it, they're getting on, not really living."

He gave her another sideways glance, "You need a cover story?"

Shaking her head, Jo looked over, meeting his eyes. "Nope, I'm good." She might have someone waiting for her back at her hotel now, but for the moment she was okay. Her coffee arrived and she took a long drink without adding anything to it.

Another nod, "I always recommend the BLT here, grow the tomatoes out back." He said, "Always fresh."

"Thanks..." She waved the waitress back over and ordered that, then looked to him again. "I've never been here before."

Now that Jo's tail was gone, Arthur actually turned to face her, "Not many people do, bit out of the way for most, but I like it. Not going to claim it's a home away from home, but it's close."

He offered a handshake, "Arthur."

Since she wasn't on a job, Jo shifted and took his hand to shake it firmly. "Jo. And any place that has good food helps, so I appreciate it."

He nodded once, sipping his coffee again, "Don't think I've ever seen anybody leave here unsatisfied."

"Hopefully I won't be the first." She offered a light smile. It struck her a little strange that he hadn't asked about her tail, but she wasn't going to question that.

If she hadn't known about it, he probably would have asked more questions, but she'd been fully aware, he figured that meant she knew who and why and it wasn't any of his business after that.

He chuckled at the answer, nodding, "Let's hope."

Jo really did appreciate the fact that for once she could relax a little, and not yet worry about whoever was out to kill her this week. When the food arrived, Jo started in with relish, working her way through the sandwich and fries. She definitely wasn't the dainty eater some women were.
