We've done it before, Doctor. As far as I'm concerned this is old news. I'm just surprised yous till seem somewhat scandalized about it.
I'm not as idealistic as you are, Doctor. How would you stop the war? It's not like they'd bother to listen to you.
You'd be surprised how the meaning of a word changes over time, Doctor. To you it's a title you picked because you 'help people', but to me and many others it's come to take on a whole new meaning. To many it's become a title that brings great fear, you know. With all those you've hurt, all those you've threatened, all you've destroyed...I guess you can't really be all that surprised.
But, if you're so against calling me 'Doctor' why not go with 'Eleven' instead? It works since I'm your eleventh incarnation and then I don't have to listen to you wibble about 'helping people'.
[He cracks a small smile when the other puts on the glasses, his expression almost playful.]
Now now, Doctor...What would be the fun in telling you that? Besides, you know I can't share the future with you, it'd ruin the surprise.
[He tilts his head curiously at the other.]
Not dead, Doctor. Awake. I want you out of that sickening idealistic dreamworld where you can save everyone. How can you save everyone if you can't even save yourself?
