Horatio stepped out the backdoor of the hut and took a deep breath, inhaling the early morning sea air. The corners of his mouth quirked up to form a soft smile as he closed his eyes and took a moment to listen to the crashing waves.
It was one of many things he missed about Sylinia, the water. There was so much more of it there. He found being landlocked on Earth too stifling, which was why he stayed on the coast of whichever continent he happened to be inhabiting at the time.
His smile bloomed into a grin as arms slid around his waist and a kiss was pressed against the nape of his neck. "Sleep well?" he asked.
Speed grunted into his neck. "The best, though waking up was a little disappointing."
"I don't see how it's possible when sleeping in that bed. I could live on that thing twenty-four hours a day."
"Would have been better if you'd been there," Speed said, his arms tightening around him.
Horatio chuckled and turned to face him, sliding his arms over Speed's shoulders and clasping his hands behind Speed's neck. "I would have, but the bathroom refused to come to me, and nature called."
"Could have come back," Speed said with a small huff.
Horatio shook his head and smirked. "You'll live. Now come on; it's time for your first flying lesson."
"What? Now?" Speed let Horatio drag him off the porch and onto the open, deserted beach. As he passed the tree line, he caught sight of the boat they had used to reach the island. The sun reflected off the white paint, making him wince at its brilliance. "I was hoping for at least breakfast," he said, looking away from the dock.
"You can make us breakfast after we're done. You'll have worked up an appetite by then."
"I can think of another way I'd rather work up my appetite."
Hearing Speed's mutterings, Horatio dropped his hand and turned around. Hands on his hips and one eyebrow arched, he stared at Speed until he fidgeted under Horatio's glare. Only then did Horatio speak. "Tim, the purpose of this trip is to teach you how to fly. We've got to strengthen your wings, but we can't do that in the city or anywhere people can see us. That's why I took the trouble of getting us these two weeks off, and you've done nothing but bitch and moan the entire time. What's wrong with you?" Horatio turned on the special glare he reserved for only those closest to him and it didn't take long for Speed to buckle.
Heaving a sigh and growling in frustration, Speed ran his hand through his hair and glared at Horatio. "I don't like heights, okay?"
"But you don't have a problem flying," Horatio said, bemused. "You've flown to several conferences-"
"And was white-knuckled and half-plastered the entire flight. If I have to, I can fly on a plane. But this is a whole other ballgame when it's just my weakling pair of wings that comes between me and a long, hard fall to the ground. Reconstructive surgery doesn't quite hold the appeal for me that it does for others. I like my face the way it is."
Horatio smiled as he pulled Speed close. "So do I. And for the record, I'm not planning on hoisting you a couple of thousand feet into the air and letting you drop to fly or become road kill. We're here so I can teach you the preliminary lessons. Even after two weeks, you won't be ready to go more than ten feet off the ground."
"Then why couldn't we do this at home?"
"Would you like to explain to nosy Mrs. Anderson why you've got a pair of black wings? I'm having a difficult enough time trying to explain to her why Ryan was running around naked in the backyard a couple of months ago."
Speed snorted. "Yeah, 'a werewolf stole his underwear and wouldn't give them back' just doesn't cut it. At least she didn't get a peek at the floor show." Speed winced at the memory.
Horatio laughed at the grimace on Speed's face. "I told you to knock first. Now come on. Let's see those beautiful wings of yours," he said, stepping away.
"Why do you like flying so much?" Speed asked as his form shifted with little effort.
Horatio smiled as he let his own wings unfold and stretch as wide as they would go. "Because there are no limits up in the air. I'm not confined by streets or buildings, or the laws of whatever world I'm on. I'm free to push myself as little or as much as I wish. Even on a world such as this, where I'm limited by their not knowing about our kind, it's a short plane ride to the nearest gateway and I'm back on a planet where I can fly without restriction. You're wary now, but by the time we're done with your training, you'll understand."
Speed cleared his throat and sidled up next to Horatio, sliding his arms around his waist and brushing his fingers against the soft feathers of his wings. "You're really hot when you get passionate about things."
Horatio moved back enough to see the evidence of just how much his passion was appreciated. He wrapped his hand around the end of the cock nudging against his hip and ran the pad of his thumb over the tip, putting the lightest pressure over the slit. He grinned as Speed's eyes half rolled back into his head.
Then Horatio released Speed and stepped back. "Time for your lesson. We'll deal with that later."
The amusement Horatio showed at his plight had Speed bordering between tackling him or murdering him. He finally settled for whining. "H!"
Horatio's movement was so sudden, Speed barely had time to register that there was a mouth around his dick before he shot off in what was a mortifying and humiliatingly short time.
"I hate it when you do that," Speed panted as his legs turned to jelly and he slid to the ground, managing to remember to spread his wings so they wouldn't get crushed.
"Do you?" Horatio asked as he knelt beside him and waited for Speed to recover.
After a moment, Speed replied, "Okay, so I don't hate it, but you know I never get the chance to enjoy it when you suck me off like that."
Horatio laughed and leaned over to kiss him. "I'll make it up to you later. Right now we've got some work to do," he said, standing up and holding out his hand.
"All right," Speed grumbled as he took Horatio's offer of help, plans already formulating in his head on how to get even.
