'Gentler Touch' (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Leonardo, Water #32) Title: Gentler Touch Pairing/Characters: Leonardo, Michelangelo Theme Set and #: Water, #32 (Tears) Fandom: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 cartoon) Rating: G Disclaimer: Not mine Summary: Takes place when the TMNT are still kids (i.e., the flashback scenes in 'Tales of Leo', etc). My first serious attmept at writing TMNT fic of any kind, so apologies in advance if this isn't that great.
“C’mon, Mikey. Quit with the tears already. It is just a toy, after all.”
It wasn’t until he’d said it out loud that Leonardo realized he should remember whom he was talking to. He frowned slightly as his words had the opposite affect he’d hoped for and the waterworks continued. This would be a lot easier if it was all Raphael’s fault. Then Leonardo could just knock the sense into him, he’d mumble an apology, and things would be peaceful again (until Raph’s next outburst, at least). But Mikey’d had a hand in it as well, teasing Raph all the way back to the liar, waving his newly found Silver Sentry action figure in his face (despite numerous protests to stop). Honestly, Leonardo couldn’t blame his brother for being upset. It was how he’d acted on his feelings that was the problem. Unable to take Mikey’s antics anymore, Raphael had finally snapped-- and so did the Silver Sentry, in two.
Even though neither one of his brothers was exactly innocent, he had to do something. He was the oldest, after all. But dealing with Raphael and Mikey would require more than knowing stares and good advice.
It would require a gentler touch.
Leonardo placed a hand on his brother’s shoulder. “Hey, I bet Donnie is done fixing the Silver Sentry. Why don’t you check and see?”
Sure enough, Mikey’s tears slowed down in a sniffle. “’Kay.”
Leonardo watched him as he bounded off. Well, at least Mikey had stopped crying. He wasn’t sure if this ‘gentler touch’ approach would work as well with Raph, but it if had helped Mikey stop mourning his toy being broken in half, it was worth a shot.
