As soon as he came here a week or so ago, Danny had kept as busy as he could. And kept himself away unless Malena had asked for him. Which hadn't been that much since the first time she'd bit him. Danny still remembered that, and was still more than a little confused about it.
Danny didn't need much to amuse himself with, nor to keep fit. He'd made do with very little during many years. Of course, he didn't have anyone to spar with, to practice with. So he 'fought' the trees a bit during the day before going to bed. Malena seemed to keep nocturnal hours, so Danny tried to do so to, just to keep her in a good mood. Keeping your Master in a good mood was generally a good idea. Running around the house, sit ups and crunches in various variations... Danny did his best to keep himself as fit for a fight as he usually did, since he was still unsure what Malena wanted him for. She hadn't taken him to a fight or to intimidate anyone either, which also confused Danny.
Basically, you could say that Danny was all around confused.
He liked his room though, and even though he'd started the week by sleeping in a self-made nest under the bed, he'd slept the last night in the bed. And decided he liked it.
Now he'd been doing crunches in his room, since he didn't have anything else to do. To train and keep fit wasn't that much fun without Teddy... and his little car. Danny missed them, and wondered what had happened to them? Were they still in the squalor under Bart's office?, he thought making a couple of more crunches. He tried not to consider the possibility that they might have been destroyed.
A bit lost in thought, Danny at first didn't hear Malena. Then he did. And jumped up quickly, scared all of a sudden. Oh no. He'd missed hearing his Master's call. Pulling his shirt over his head again since he'd pulled it off while doing crunches, Danny grabbed for the door-handle to run to Malena.
