We do find each other, and that can also last for years. Time doesn't move the same when one is immortal. A hundred years is nothing when you have an eternity. Right now, my sister and one brother are on the island."
Elijah regarded the woman, lifting a hand to her cheek. He brushed over it with the backs of his fingertips. "A child should never be involved in a parent's indiscretions." That honestly disgusted Elijah after the years of dealing with Mikael. "You haven't lost your youth, however. Do they allow you to put yourself back into service?" He wasn't quite sure how that worked. With the slaves that he had known, service was never elective, but he was fairly certain that someone could sign themselves in. Katherine's family had put her into service. "Perhaps you would do well as a hired servant? What is it that you are doing now?"
