"And yet here we are," Hermes noted. His gaze lingered on the menu, an attempt to find something small enough to not feel too guilty if he didn't finish his meal.
"It's quiet," the boy finally settled on, closing the menu and setting it aside to give Carrick his full experience. "Which is both a good thing and a bad one. As far as dwellings go, it's fine. It might be a bit too much space for one person, but I'll not complain. The view is lovely and it's close enough for me to be able to get wherever I need without too much fear. Getting enough sleep for a normal person is definitely a foreign experience."
The waiter approached and Hermes smoothly gave his order, taking a sip of the provided water until his wine got there. "Your big buff security detail still refuses my invitations to come in, but thank you for allowing them to walk with me instead of following at a distance." He licked his lips and looked down at the weft and weave of the table cloth. "If you'll give the night one leave, I'd appreciate his being inside instead of out. It feels somewhat safer to have someone behind the barrier of locked doors while I sleep instead of slowed down by them if he needs to make use of his skills."
