Arik opened his mouth to reply and sighed instead with a smirk curling the corners of his lips. "I may have been a couple days since I bothered to sleep." Arik shook his head. Calling him Dr. Benjamin was like calling a child by their first and middle name. He felt like he was in trouble, even if there was good humour behind it.
The darkness was accepting of Arik, allowing him to think better. A pout came to his lips when Stefan lit one of the lamps in the room. "I'm not sure time off would be allowed," he chuckled. His clients were needy children really, never allowing him more than a day to himself without freaking out over something. Whether it was Masters who worried over the health of their slaves, or free humans and the like that needed his attention, they all sent him messages at all times of the day. The island was small but there was enough of a population that wanted a private doctor that did house calls rather than going to a clinic.
"Why? Are you going to let me taste you?" Arik teased, a little too tired to completely uphold his mostly filtered mind.
