Re: Auction Room: Elena Gilbert
"What I'm about to say is not a threat, but a reminder." Looking over at her, he brought his hand up and gently turned her head to look at him. He wouldn't speak until she met his eye. When that didn't work, he moved so that she had to look him in the eye.
"You are a slave. As much as you hate that idea, you are a slave. There are cruel masters out there that will physically beat you, rape you, or worse, kill you. I am not that kind of master. In all my years, I have always sought to do my part to end slavery, but know my limits. I purchase slaves, teach them a trade if need be, help set them up for a full life where they can support a family and then eventually release them. You may be my slave for now, Elena, but I will eventually set you free."
Releasing her face from between his fingers, he sat back in his seat just as they pulled up to his home. The moment the car stopped, he got out of the vehicle and opened her door. Elijah helped her out of the car and quickly led her up to her room. "I'll give you the grand tour tomorrow before we go shopping. For now, this is your room which adjoins to mine. Hopefully in the morning, you'll be a little more open to this new arrangement and we can discuss things more freely."
