Klaus actually laughed at that. "Throw enough darts and some of them are bound to hit the mark, I suppose," he echoed his brother's statement with the analogy.
When the door open to reveal his most favored son, Klaus' grin broadened and he opened stepped inside, setting the painting down before spreading his arms and pulling Bastien into a tight hug.
"My son, you have done well for yourself," he remarked as Elijah greeted Bastien's lovely companion. "Such a fine home, and yet all of it pales in comparison," he added smoothly, going so far as to kneel down and kiss Colette's hand when Elijah was through with the formality. "Bastien is fortunate to have found such a treasure."
