After spending most of the day heading around town hunting for this item or that and getting the names of several local repair services and guys for hire. Ginger had had just about as much as she could take in one day of being a social butterfly and putting on an act of being just an all round wonderfully charming person. Something she had to double up on when Wade's mood went into a more....interesting direction.
Once Ginger was armed with the names and numbers of those more able to deal with the exterior of the warehouse they now were dwelling in, she had turned her attention towards the interior and what they didn't have. This allowed two things to happen; she didn't have to play nice with others and gave Wade a chance to talk her ear off without anyone telling him to shut the fuck up. Apparently something that was a novelty to him as he had paused a couple of times as if he was half expecting her to do so.
Yeah, it was a little tiring to listen to but she was used to half-drunk men yammering on at her so eventually her mind just half listened to the other's stories and asked questions when appropriate while her attention was actually directed at what kind of supplies they actually needed. The mapache was probably up to his furry eyeballs in plaster and parts by now and he was going to want Lord knew what for what she didn't want to know kind of projects but they would still need a working kitchen and functioning living room and the bedrooms.
Let's not even go there.
It was good that she had Wade there though as he seemed happy to be out of the house and carry a few things, like a small mountain of groceries and toiletries, while she arranged for more furniture and household renovation supplies to be delivered the next morning. They even picked up a flat screen, blu ray player and to his utter delight though Ginger didn't really understand it herself, the Collector's Edition of Golden Girls.
She wasn't sure if she had been imagining things or if he'd actually giggled like a school girl when they'd returned to the warehouse and he'd disappeared with the new loot to what was the work in-progress of the living room. For her part, Ginger took the armful of bags they'd acquired and dropped them off onto the one counter top of the kitchen that wasn't already covered in...everything?
"Mapache?" She tentatively called out as she opened one of the bags but looked more around the open space beyond the kitchen around her. There was no telling where the bastard was if he was in his fur suit and scurrying around, "Mapache, is that a piece of the furnace on the floor here? Why did you take the furnace apart?"
Why was she even asking? He would have some half crazed reason that she wouldn't understand and he'd just patronize her by claiming she'd thank him later. And then somehow it would be an explosive.
