He laughed right along with her at his own disconnect with modern culture. Much as he was successful when it came to keeping up with the times, there were parts of the world and its language that would forever remain a mystery to him. It worked to his favor at times, however. There was something appealing to a certain sort about someone who, at times, seemed to come from another world.
"I strived fit in for years before I realized the effort was futile," he admitted with a sigh. "I'll always be a bit outside of time and yet still a slave to it all the same." He smiled to the young witch as well. Though his efforts had been to forge an alliance with a magic user on the island, her company had not been unpleasant as he might have thought. To find a fellow artist as well was something he considered a valuable bonus.
"I'm pleased to have exceeded your expectations then, love," Klaus added with a smile, inwardly just as pleased. "I'm not one to foster tensions amongst our people. Not even the weres as one might expect that I would. In every person, there lies an opportunity to learn, no matter your age or walk of life."
