Klaus thought for a moment about draping his arm casually across the little Slayer's shoulders, but his interests laid less in upsetting his dearest son and more in acquiring the trust and faith of both him and his slave. Her blood was a potent thing, and he did not intend to let such an opportunity pass by. And yet he knew he would have to be careful. A whiff of distrust, and Bastien would flee for some misguided attempt to protect that which he had purchased. No, it would be best to be friendly for now.
"Your little Slayer and I have much the same thought it appears," Klaus replied with a smile, arms clasped behind his back. "We thought to see how you were doing, my son, and, by the look of it, all is quite well."

Alice blushed. She tried hard not to, but it just happened. She bit her lower lip, less bravado and willful warrior now that her Master was here. He was kinder to her, and she felt more like a person and less like a Slayer in his presence the more time she spent with him.
"It's, ah, it's fine. I'm fine," she assured him. "We just kind of. You know ran into each other." Her eyes shifted to stare warily at Klaus.
