Gardens - Alice
Had it been over a year since anyone had hugged her? The gesture felt alien at first to the girl, but, after that, it was a comfort, even from a vampire who technically owned her. Alice leaned into the hug, gingerly wrapping her arms around him as well in turn to return it. She felt like she needed it, even though she hadn't known it.
"You've been open with me about... about everything," she said softly, her voice only shaking a little bit. She didn't want to mention Colette's name, knowing how that wound must still be bleeding for him. "What happened is... I don't know. I don't know how to say it. I've never had to say it, and I feel like, if I do, I won't ever stop crying." She already felt close enough as it was. "Which sounds incredibly lame, I know, and like I'm completely wallowing in angst or something." She was trying so very hard to maintain some level of composure, just as she'd been told she should.
