A month had passed since the fireworks hoopla, and since then, Lillah hadn't had any further PTSD episodes. She often wondered about this fact, and theorized the various reasons for it. On the one hand, she had been happy at Giles' house, but she still had episodes. However, she had just escaped the clutches of her ex when she was bought by Giles. On the other hand, Giles was a powerful witch; why wouldn't Lillah feel safe there? Well, she felt safe, but there was just something about living with Meru, being with him that made her feel safer. Perhaps that's why she hadn't had an episode in so long? Or perhaps it's because it's been a while since she escaped her ex, so really it's time that has caused her episodes to go away?
Lillah often found herself with a mild headache trying to figure it all out. So when she was asked to run errands for the apartment, there was no hesitation in her voice when she responded in the affirmative. She needed time outside, and the sun was peaking out, and everything just looked beautiful. Walking around down town immediately cleared her head and stopped her over thinking. She stopped a few places, made some orders to be dropped by the apartment, and then decided to stop for something warm. She still had some groceries to get, but all the heavy work was finished for the day. Everything Meru needed for both the store and his experiments were all on order.
So she stopped at a café across from a neighborhood grocery store, and order a medium hot chocolate. Sitting outside to be in the sun, Lillah mentally kicked herself for not having a book on her to occupy her mind while she sat for a bit. She people watched instead, noticing people walking around, doing their own errands and picking up orders. She took note of a couple that were walking hand in hand, and blushed. Her and Meru cared very much for each other, but it was such a different thing from what she had with her ex. That wasn't a bad thing, but it had Lillah pinching herself a few times as a reminder that it was real.
She checked her phone for any messages, and decided to send one to the friend she had made in the city, the one who was helping her be more confident with herself. After sending the text message, Lillah looked back up at what was going around her. She sipped her chocolate and created stories in her head about what each person she saw was doing for the day. Like the couple- she saw them as a couple who was on the island for their honeymoon, and they came out that day to see the sites of the city. Later, while they were walking, she'd pick up a bit of snow and toss a small snow ball at him, ensuing a cute chase that lead them to an ice skating rink. There, they'd hold on to each other as they both tried to figure out how to ice skate, since bother were naturally from the south, it was a new task for them, one that hand them fall several times before finding a rhythm.
Lillah sipped and people watched, her mind wandering.
