Cat could still remember the last time he'd seen Carl. How it had been this wonderful moment between them, and then his mother walking in to find them together. How his mother had yelled, the mess it had become. It'd been the only time his mother had brought him to tears. then... Carl had been gone. There had been no goodbye, no assurances he'd be coming back. He'd merely been gone, ripped from his life.
Cat's hands began to shake, and he was aware enough to move in close enough to set his glass down. Then he was there, up close, hand reaching up to touch Carl's face, eyes searching over the older man's. Tracing every inch of him with his eyes, then his fingers.
"You... you were gone. Suddenly you were just gone. You left me... why did you leave me?" he asked, his demeanor cracking as a few tears fell from his eyes. His emotional stimulation coming from the release of withheld memories. Here before him stood his first love, and his first heartbreak. One he'd made himself nearly forget about in his need to not feel pain.
